Me to You Charity sustainably combats period-poverty
& provides reusable, menstrual hygiene supplies for
women & girls.
Our mission is to empower and support women and girls to manage their menstruation sustainably, without shame, stigma or sexual exploitation. We do this by providing menstrual hygiene supplies and menstrual health education to needy communities in Kenya, Uganda, Zanzibar and Nigeria.
According to data from UNESCO, approximately 1 in 10 girls in Africa miss school 3 -4 days every month, during their menstrual cycle.

About Us
Me to You Charity a.k.a. Stichting Me to You started as grassroots in 2016 and formally established in the Netherlands, with ANBI status in 2020.
We donate sustainable, menstrual hygiene kits containing reusable sanitary pads that can last 3-5 yrs, along with underwear and menstrual health information. During distribution of our donations, we host educational, menstrual hygiene management workshops that may include women, girls, boys and men participating.
At our free One-Day Academy for Hand-Sewn Sanitary Pads, our volunteers teach women, girls and boys how to make reusable sanitary pads.
For as low as €7/kit donation we are ensuring girls and women can manage their menstrual hygiene with dignity and without sacrificing their education or health.
The Problem
With many households surviving on less than €2 per day, the cost of menstrual supplies is a burden.
Many women and girls in
developing countries cannot afford or do not have access to sanitary products like pads or tampons.
This leads to unhygienic practices during their menstrual cycle, domestic violence and sexual exploitation.
Some resort to using unsafe materials like soiled rags or mattress stuffing; risking infections such as UTIs and skin rashes.
Sexual
Exploitation
Some women and girls, desperate for menstrual products, may be coerced into sexual acts in exchange for pads or tampons.
Women are exploited by employers who demand sexual favors for time off or menstrual hygiene products.
In certain areas of the world, menstrual supplies are used as currency by sex predators. This results in girls and women being abused. These victims may end up with STIs, unwanted pregnancies and mental health issues.
Missing School
& Work
Lack of access to menstrual
hygiene products can have severe consequences for women and girls.
Many are forced to miss school or work days.
In Kenya, it is estimated that girls miss an average of four school days per month due to period poverty, which translates to approximately
20% of the school year.
Our Vision
By providing support via our reusable menstrual hygiene supplies, menstrual health education and sewing workshops, we empower girls and women with self- reliance and dignity. They're empowered to overcome obstacles that hinder their educational and economical success.
With these resources, women and girls can increase: their confidence, healthy behaviours, skill-sets, as well as their school and work attendance.
They have an opportunity to improve their quality of life and share healthy knowledge with others in their communities
